SoundSaw is a sophisticated sound processing application featuring intuitive controls tailored to manipulate the audio of musical instruments or vocals, immersing them in the aesthetics and ambience of noise, lo-fi, chiptune, and the experimental music genre.
With the capability to apply subtle distortion and saturation for a natural, dynamic sound or to radically transform the audio into a cacophony of harmonics, cracks, and buzzes, this app unlocks boundless opportunities for sonic experimentation.
All control parameters are thoughtfully arranged on a single screen divided into six sections, following a straightforward signal path from "Input" to "Output", ensuring a seamless user experience. The chain of effects within the app is meticulously crafted to yield captivating results across an extensive range of parameter values.

<li>Simulates various signal processing electronic circuits, mimicking their distinctive harmonic saturation and noise profiles.</li>
<li>The Maximizer retains peak signal levels to accentuate distortions and feedback effects, offering a hold function for maintaining maximum volume as the input signal decays.</li>
<li>The Overload effect emulates electronic circuit behavior when the signal surpasses permissible levels, introducing an array of harmonics.</li>
<li>The Decimator and Bitcrusher effects generate prominent digital artifacts typical of rudimentary devices with basic DACs / ADCs, alongside crackles and buzzes.</li>
<li>The Feedback effect replicates controllable acoustic feedback, dynamically adjusting resonant frequencies based on input signal harmonics.</li>
<li>The 4-pole filter, modulated by an envelope generator, complements distortion effects with filter options including Low pass, High pass, Band pass, and Notch.</li>
<li>The envelope generator synchronizes with the input signal to produce single or repeating cycles of envelope shapes.</li>
<li>An output filter allows customization of high and low frequency ranges of the processed signal before mixing it.</li>

SoundSaw is a versatile application available for iOS and macOS devices. Whether used on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or MacBook with an M1 chip (or later), SoundSaw functions as a standalone app, Audio Unit or Inter-App Audio module, supporting Audiobus and Ableton Link. On macOS systems, it operates as both a standalone application and an Audio Unit (AUv3) compatible with popular DAWs and audio unit hosts such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, Cockos Reaper, Plogue Bidule, Hosting AU, among others that support AUv3 plugins. The application's full array of features is accessible across iOS and macOS platforms, inclusive of MIDI support with customizable mapping through a MIDI learn feature.
